So lots of rivers have many different sections, often the sections are a great distance apart, completely different grade or have different land marks associated with them.
How should we as a site decide if a two river sections should be put in two separate guides or in one river guide?
My rule of thumb is to outline what would be paddled by a group that's suited to paddle for that section of the river.
Example 1
The Liffey : one big guide, multiple put-ins, take outs etc. etc.
Example 2
The Flesk : Upper Flesk/Clydagh River and the Flesk River. Both very close, but the distintion is that a group thats well suited to the upper Flesk, might not be suited to the Flesk.
River Guide Naming Convention
Sould we just call the guide the name of the river section, followed by the river name?
eg. - Upper Flesk, Clydagh River
- Clare Glens, Clare River
Or The name of the river followed by the section name:
eg. Clydagh River, Upper Flesk
Clare River, Clare Glens
Both have there advantages and disadvantages, I just want to pick one way of doing it and stick to it. what say ye?
Splitting Rivers into sections...
Re: Splitting Rivers into sections...
I'd say do it by most referred to name followed by the river name (if applicable). like "Annamoe (Avonmore)".
This way you'll (probably) find what you're looking for faster and not skim over a river because you only know its commonly used section name and not the river it appears on.
