As regards things not being simple, if you think about it I can see the point to the above. An organised "coup" could ensue if people could sign up, turn up and fuck it up....

12 months might be a bit much though. If you think about it, it spans 2 years of membership.

The other thing to remember about that point is that while a lot in the proposals is about the ICU basically doing what it should already be doing, there's a big picture here about where ICU members see the sport heading in all it's disciplines. It's about outcome. No one says that outcome is going to arrive the day after the AGM or that any motion will even pass.
There's always next year, I don;t think anyone is talking revolution over evolution - but for next year, now would be the time to ensure membership is up to date.
