Hydrospeed

Post by pmeehan » Fri Jul 31, 2009 2:27 pm

Hi, I'm just back from a week in the French Alps where one of the activities I took part in is hydrospeed (basically throwing your body down a river with the aid of a triangular shaped float). It's 100% addictive and a pure adrenalin rush. Would anyone know if there are any river routes which would be suitable for this activity?

I wouldn't imagine that there is many places suitable in Ireland for this.

You need a large, high volume river to do this as your whole body is exposed to river obstructions.

Also you need a decent bit of flow.

So Its probably possible on the lower corrib and will be the coldest fastest 30seconds of hydrospeeding in Ireland.
