irish canoe union name change

Does anyone have any explanation as to why the organisation is changing its name after being in continious existance for the last 50 years.?
To Keep up with the Times and I think something to do with the Sports council (Could be wrong on that).
Swim Ireland
Mountaineering Ireland
Personally I think The change to Canoeing Ireland I A great move!
