The rise of facebook for event pages and club groups has been to the detriment of local clubs forums and sporting forums like IWW. However, I can see why. FB is a place people frequent, it's easier to see whats happening, you only need one account, etc. Summed up, it's less hassle. I feel there are number of ways we can offset this issues:
- Use features like Login/Signup with Facebook/Google/Twitter buttons
- Post interesting threads to FB page.
- Highlight the usefulness of being able to search through old posts.
