Mobile Phone Coverage?

Mobiles are increasingly becoming considered as an integral part of our paddling kit. But in mountainous areas where we normally paddle coverage isn't always good. Has anyone noticed if any operator has better or worse coverage in such areas then others?

Comreg have a function for coverage

There are few others that give coverage maps

Most of our networks claim a 99% population coverage with a 95% geographic coverage. I've spent alot of my time doing field work in remote areas of Ireland and for most areas I've found vodafone the best followed by O2 with meteor being the worst. There is also an issue with choice of phone i.e the iPhone death grip etc.
However none of this matters with regards to emergency calls on 112 should redirect to nearest mobile network and there is something called E112 which means that the mobile network will provide the emergency services with as much information available of location of the call.

Meteor is shite out west anyway. A lot of the time the only thing it is good for is emergency calls.
