How is the whitewater in Ireland??

Thanks for looking. I am a class 4 to 5 kayaker from Colorado. I will be in Ireland next week and am just wondering if I should bring my boating kit. I would love to go boating over there, but am unsure of what water levels will be like and if anything will be running. Any and all feed back would be appreciated.

Hit and miss is the best way to describe. We have class 4 and 5 but we rely on heavy rainfall and you can never be sure when there'll be enough rain. If you're on the west coast, kayak surfing may be a better bet. There are some tidal play spots around but that depends on where you'll be and if you have access to a car.
Hope it works out.

Thanks Warren,
I will have a car, and yes I will spending some time on the west coast. Could you suggest a kayak shop that rents boats.

Unfortunately Irish kayak shops do not really rent out boats too often. Your best source of info if you are in Galway is a shop called River Deep, Mountain High. Ask for Pat. Hope you find some water!
