Been looking at oldskool footage lately and came across these videos of some early descents. Not vimeo hd quality but impressive nonetheless:

Grand Canyon of the Stikine 1981

Grand Canyon of the Stikine 1998

A very scary video of an apparent first descent of the Susitna River in Alaska in the 70s (this river featured in PaddleQuest, 1996):

I know PaddleQuest and the First Legal Descent of Niagara Gorge were posted up here already. Any other oldskool footage people know about?

Damming the Heaven

Post by Adrians » Sun May 23, 2010 6:28 pm

Movie about the Damming the White Nile river.
We had the chance to kayak there for past 4 years. Uganda and the famous river White Nile left us many emotions, we enjoyed the time spend there but the damming of our haven is the an disaster for us. So enjoy the movie like we enjoyed the time there.
Paddlers :
Peter Csonka, Nina Halasova, Vladimir Cako, Peter Scherfel, Milos Trnka, Jan Rusnak, Matej Fabianek

I was meaning to post that Wildwater trailer, some excellent camera shots in it.

Here's some cool headcam footage of Yule Creek:

Locals Only C Roll
Some really good POV video that didn't make it into an upcoming movie, 'Locals Only'.

"Some view from training, before ekstremsportveko 2010 on VOSS in Norway."

I like this video because it has sound of the rivers and the sound of the paddlers included. I often think the sound of the river is most important part of a rapid, for me its what triggers the fear and excitement.

We would leave home in the morning and could play all day, as long as we were back before it got dark. No one was able to reach us and no one minded!
