RTE News wrote:Heavy overnight rain has caused flooding in many areas.

Co Wicklow is particularly affected with the Mill Road in Greystones impassable because of flooding. One lane of the N11 northbound is also blocked at Kilpedder due to a mudslide.

There are also reports of flooding in Carlow, Waterford, Kilkenny, Offaly and Dublin.

In Carlow, Centaur St is impassable due to flooding. In Kilkenny, the Rathduff Old Town Road between Jerpoint and Stonyford is impassable and the main Waterford to Tramore Rd is flooded.

A number of homes and business premises at Mallow in north Cork have been flooded, following a night of heavy rain there.

Floodwaters are also continuing to rise on the River Blackwater and Cork County Council is warning that parts of Fermoy are likely to flood later this morning. Council staff have been working throughout the night distributing sand bags.

Park Road in Mallow is now under several feet of water. Water levels are continuing to rise and many homes at the Spa in Mallow are expected to flood shortly.
