A gauge sends a text once a day. A text costs 8c. If 20c was coming in a day from advertising that would be 2 texts a day covered. if it was 90c it would be 11. It was a "Devils Advocate" observation on the google ads.

He could mean Tiernan that revenue from advertising on the site might first go towards the cost of hosting the site, rather than the gauge credit, which users might donate directly to themselves. But doesn't look like the ads in that form are staying anyway so there will be no 20-90c!
