Galway Slalom Comp - CANCELLED
Posted: Wed Jan 13, 2010 9:04 pm
Galway Slalom Comp - Cancelled, owing to lack of water. Will reschedule after varsities if possible. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Registration and Entries
10 a.m. registration open for one hour at school car park in Spiddal. Entry fee is 5euro for Juniors and students, and 8euro otherwise. Practice runs till 11:30 a.m. Comp starts 11:30 a.m. Please email [email protected] to enter, and include your ICU number and also your class if you know it.
Classes
We are playing it by ear with classes, but there will be prizes up for grabs for the novice beginners class in addition to the usual classes so all levels of slalom expertise are welcome. Juniors included.
Please note: Then landowner at the short start has asked that people do NOT park all around his road and block access to his land. For this reason, particularly with the Intervarsities approaching, I would appreciate if competitors coordinated at the car park to avoid parking en masse at the short start. The comp should be wrapped up within a couple of hours after starting, so there will be time for those who wish to run the river afterwards.
I will email competitors in advance of the day to let you know if there is a change of venue depending on water levels.
Cheers,
Annie
