SRT Level 1 This Weekend!

Just a quick heads up that there are only a couple of places left on a SRT 1 Course running in Wicklow this weekend. Brief course outline below. This is the last SRT we will be running this year so grab your chance before it's too late.

Day 1

Day 2

Skill sheets
Shallow water crossings
Swimmer tows / c spine
Live Bait
Line crossings
Entrapment drills: tag / stab line
Diagonals / V lowers
Discussion: ropes / knots / gear

Notes:
· this is an outline programme and is subject to change
· times and locations may change
· The overriding principal behind this course is that of being procactive and looking
after yourself first, then your teammates, then rescuing the casualty, then recovering
gear
· Emphasis is placed on swiftwater swimming skills, then swiftwater rescue techniques,
implemented, if possible, using the lowest risk option first.
· The theory based sessions are to give a borad knowledge of rescue principles and
reasons why this course came, and Rescue 3, came about. This would suffice for a
basic awareness level
