Just out of interest has any one paddled the Glenaniff river in Leitrim, meant to be 11 waterfalls, video shows ones at Fowley falls.

Took that last week so there was a fair bit of water, but has been higher. It is out from garrison (in Fermanagh, good river there too) to Rossinver turn right in Rossinver and then about 2 mile up road. Recent path and picnic area constructed. Too extreme for me.

Jaysus lads that looks savage.

Caolan, is there any chance you could fire together a skeleton of a guide? Even just the rough length, directions to the put in and take out would be good for the time being.

Thanks,
Seanie

A big thank you to Caolan who submitted a start to the guide for this river.

That river than runs into Garrison is called the Roogagh. Ran it many years ago with Noel Maguire, very similar to the Clare Glens style, pool drops, fast run off. Starts a couple of miles upstream of Garrison village. It would have been ran regularly many years ago by OE staff from the area as an "after worker".

The Glenaniff is in Irish Whitewater, P 105.

Most of the drops on the Roogagh are rather shallow, there are only 2 that are really proper waterfalls, the other ones are more like slides. The biggest one is round 4m high and the pool is only deep immediately below the drop.

I'm going to start a guide for the Roogagh river based on what's been mentioned in this thread, hopefully more people will add to it.
