Swine Flu and Weil's disease

Just heard of a paddler who was diagnosed with swine flu and treated for same to no effect only to discover that he had contracted the dreaded Weil's deisease. Apparently the symptoms are similar and hospitals/doctors are obviously on the look out for Swine Flu first and foremost.

I know this is a very late reply - but I caught the dreded weils in November from the Liffey. I went into A&E dgot diagnosed as swine flu - given a saline drip and sent home. Needless to say I went back the following day - it took me nearly 24 hours to convince the hospital to test / treat me for weils. I stayed in for 8 days and would not recommend this disease to anyone - the pain and fever at the start is immense.
It took two weeks for the symptoms to appear.
If you think in any way you might have Weils you MUST tell the doctors
