Boyne Acid

Hey, a mate told me that there was an article in the News of the World about three lads swimming in the boyne last saturday and coming out with acid burns. Has anyone else seen or heard this?
There was something on the news on either RTE or TV3 about it the same week. They reported that only one guy got burns and his skin must have reacted with something in the water that he was allergic to. Didn't hear anything about it since. Check on the EPA's website they usually keep an up to date record of any issues with contamination on rivers etc.
