Hello,
I'm from Alberta,Canada and am planning a trip to your beautiful country next spring.I'd love to paddle a couple of rivers while i'm there if the waters still flowing.I'm coming in May,is that to late?I want to rent a oc-1 or c-1 and all the gear if i can.I paddle an Esquif nitro and a Pyrana h3 255 conversion.Is there something like them in Ireland,Scottland or England?If you can help,could be a wobblie pop or 6 in it for ya'.

No where really to rent a c-1 or oc-1 in Ireland you could try i-canoe.com they do demo playboat c1's but other then that their is onyl a hand full of oc-1s in Irelands maybe 5max. Their are places in england that do demo oc1s and may rent to ya but id be unsure weather or not you could bring it to Ireland. try songofthepaddle.co.uk (google it just to be sure) its an english site with lots of info.
Ireland is totally unpredictable as for the water we are totally rain dependant and it can come at any time no real season it also depends on what you want to do class 1,2,3,4,5. Most irish river of class 4 and 5 would need a c1 or small oc1 as they are usualy tight in sections no real big volume.

you could try and organise something privately by email, I-Canoe.com is a good place to start. They have a C1 boater working there who may be able to point you in the right direction locally. Colm who runs the place is just generally helpful and a good intro to the Irish boater's anyway.
