hi just wondering how would somebody get started? living in the munster region anywhere to get lessons or do trips for beginners would love to give it a go, thanks

There are loads of clubs and places to get lessons, whrer in Munster are you?

i'm in cork, dont really want to join a club until i give it a go, is there some place that does daytrips would like to go on a river oviously nothing too big but something that would give a little excitement and insight to what it would be like if you trained up to faster rivers thanks

Ah thats fair enough, that said most clubs run some sort of beginner courses that would give you a taste of the sport.

Phoenix kayak are very active and would be definatly worh contacting.

OR

I reckon if you have a quick chat with the lads in Munster Dive they will tell you about there kayak school or point you in the best place to go for what you want.

As far as I know (could be wrong!) Phoenix have just finished up their last beginners course for this season, and they don't run courses through winter.
MDAC will run trips and courses all through winter.
The only other active clubs I know of are the college clubs - UCC and CIT, but both you have to be a student.
