What is going on in Canoeing Ireland now ?

Why have a large number of Board Members and Directors recently resigned from Canoeing Ireland ? In 2011 we were promised a new dawn with the appointment of General Manager yet 4 years later there seems be even deeper division and disquiet . Can someone explain what is going on ?

No idea, but I'd like to hear whats going on too.

Having said that, I doubt it's anything as serious as some of the issues from 2010/2011, from what I've seen the Canoe Ireland board, volunteers and staff have done some great work since then. And CI will have a brand new CEO soon too (Any updates on this? ).

What I heard was that the issue was around procedure for the selection of the new CI CEO. There might be more, but I think thats the crux of it.

Personally, while I appreciate this would be a difficult situation for the board, I'm delighted that CI is back to having somewhat normal problems. I admire the work the board members put in and I can understand and respect someone stepping down when they feel that staying on wouldn't be the best for them or their interests. This is how this stuff is meant to work. I'm hopeful that this can be resolved in a proper manner and CI can keep on trucking.
