So I'm hoping to get a run in on the Boluisce over christmas, but I've no idea how to read the graph.

- Whats a high level?
- Does a high level on the graph mean a high damn level?
- Does a high level equate to a release?
- Is a release represented by a sudden or gradual drop off?

Seanie,

River spy heights are pretty much the good to go runnable levels 1.1m Scrapable, 1.9m High.

The levels are from the outflow side of the dam (I think the level station is only 10m or so down stream from the gates), so there's always a small pool there anyway.

@ 1.9m the foot bridge (at the caravan park) is full, @ about 1.6m it's manageable to scrape under with a bit of a high brace, below that you'll have enough head room.

From http://waterlevel.ie/0000031075/0001/week/ you can see the almost vertical lines coincidence with opening/closing a gate at the dam.

Release Level
Of course levels on the river can vary depending on the amount of water draining into the river which the level station can't account for.

Hope this helps.

Paul.
