SUP Rapids

Post by shredder » Mon Dec 08, 2014 3:08 pm

I'm looking to SUP some rapids, have a SUP for a while but only got out in the sea so far. Can anyone recommend a spot with mainly grade 2s? Looking at a few spots on the liffey which look suitable but most of the weirs after the rapids are quite shallow - I have an iSUP with moulded fins.

Is there any clubs/groups doing this sort of thing? It's getting popular in other countries.

Think safety first you fall off and hurt yourself is there anyone with you your board goes around the corner will you see it again
Link up with a few kayakers they will enjoy the novelty and might even give it a go and get hooked plus you get experience and safety from their experience and training. Get a rope helps with safety
best of luck with it
Sluice was bodyboarded a few years ago might be a bit unforgiving on a SUP
