The reason I'm getting in
contact is that I'm taking part in an organised swim out to Inishbofin Island
on Saturday Aug 9. I would be travelling up from Cork at 1pm on the Friday. I'm
trying to locate an experienced kayaker to accompany me on the 12 km
swim.
The role of the kayaker is only to navigate the swimmer. RIBs will be in the water to respond and deal with any safety issues. The swim organiser can provide a kayak. The
kayakers are looked after with a free dinner and free overnight hostel
accomodation on the island as well as a few beers and I'm told they get
together to do a trip around inishshark on the Sunday. If there is someone in the paddling community who can help please contact Niall at 087-2472043.
