ICU Insurance

Some of you might not know that all ICU Registered Members are covered by a comprehensive Third Party Liability Insurance Policy. There is also a Personal Accident Policy which can be upgraded to provide additional benefits and equipment cover. Details of all ICU Insurance Policies are available here.

At first glance it looks good, I welcome the fact that the policy has Violenti non fit injuria ("to a willing person, no injury is done") in it. Otherwise it would put the adventurous aspect of kayaking at risk of being a litigious battle ground and it insulates the ICU's policy from douch bags.

The UK had a case where this legal concept was exercised (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/ ... rules.html )
