Re: CENSORSHIP ON SEANIE'S WEBSITE
I've never experienced censorship on this site - I've noted that Seanie has at times made some things available/unavailable on the frontpage but that's not censorship when the posts are still available. In terms of noeltal's constant acusations and name calling I can only regarded it as something wh...

Re: Getting old!
Tiernan, I love you for putting up this post! How did you miss this!? You've made me 5 years younger! I have to say though I do find it kind of annoying. Some of the videos it's been in has just made me dislike the personalities. In saying that, they're just a bunch of lads having a mess that happen...

Re: Seanie Should Stand for Election
Couple of points.... No Noel, not everyone knows who you are. I googled you and here's where I found out who you are: Its worth noting that Noel Tallon, the newly elected ICU treasurer, spotted these issues and acted on them. There are a lot good people within the organisation at the moment, and the...

Re: Canoe Ireland Wishlist
While not wanting to hijack the thread the inclusion of the word "access" is something that puts my nerves on edge. Any suggestion of the ICU getting involved in access discussions would have to be pretty clear in terms of what the parameters are that should be discussed. I was with a group who were...

Hypothetical question re: national governing body
If you had a choice to be affiliated with governing bodies outside of CI, who would you choose for your club to be aligned to?

Re: "Urgent Update from Concerned ICU Members"
Irish paddling really is a very small community - I think the waters are being muddied all over the place. Each of the emails, replies, forum posts have their own note of cynacism and that's hardly surprising. It's easy to be cynical seeing as there are obviously a lot of inter realationships within...

Re: Two kayakers drown in Waterford
While it is of course very sad that this incident occurred I think we're again faced with a level of missing the point from the MCIB. In the list of recommendations, it doesn't say anything about the groups apparent lack of a rope. I know an SRT course would train this in but people will read this r...

Re: The Case for the ICU EGM
As a member of a college club I am absolutely delighted that colleges pretty much stayed well away from this.
I've described receiving a "call to action" type email as being very much "print it, sign it, send it" - something I feel was pretty disingenuous (and moreso now).

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Wow.... Can I ask is it fair to say: anyone in any position of responsibility should surely QUESTION AT LEAST the appropriateness of backdating their own contract of employment? the terms of the 2 pensions + "massage with a happy ending while in for a peticure" plan VHI is not exactly standard fare ...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
I figured that when people saw that ICU statement that there would be a rush of two sides. The WFT!? side and the "he's a good man - leave him alone" side. I am glad to not know Mick Scanlon, I feel it may interfere with my opinion. Can this group of 16 clubs/17 individuals not see that the ICU are ...
