Does anyone know how these soil moisture deficit charts work? I'd say they'll have something to do with the chance of rivers running after the next few bouts of rain!

Re: Splitting Rivers into sections...
I'd say do it by most referred to name followed by the river name (if applicable). like "Annamoe (Avonmore)".
This way you'll (probably) find what you're looking for faster and not skim over a river because you only know its commonly used section name and not the river it appears on.

Boats Stranded!
Hey Everyone I have 2 stranded boats out in the French Alps and unfortunately the owners are back in Ireland trying to organise their return. I've been trying everywhere to see if anyone has free roof bar/ trailer/ van space to get them back to no avail. If anyone thinks they might be able to help o...

Re: Celtic Link Ferries - two thumbs up!
Hi Jim, Thats good to know, a few of our group are using them to get to france this year. One of the concerns was whether or not they'd be strict about the 1.9m height limit of the car + kayaks on the roof (mainly because of the Ryan Air reputation they have). 4 kayaks flat on eachother or 3 on thei...

Re: Sweet Strutters, are they solid?
Far from ideal, and i'm bored in work! Tried to align the helmets with the contours of the head, have the "ear" sticking out where it would between the straps and in the case of the rocker its aligned with the ear vent things and have the straps meet under the chin! like i said far from ideal but gi...

Re: Sweet Strutters, are they solid?
I know there was a problem with a certain amount of helmets where the rivets securing the chin straps to the shell of the helmet rusted and the chin straps came free. I-canoe and sweet were doing free replacements with the problems resolved so maybe people just decided to upgrade their helmets whil...

Re: Unusual Safety Kit
Exhale means breathe out...arrows should point out of tube?? they do (kinda)... http://www.rapidproducts.com/quickair/index_files/QA-diagram-1.jpg there is no point in breathing in and out of the same tube... you'd be breathing in what you just breathed out (unless you could blow out less than what...

Re: Unusual Safety Kit
Saying that when i got me new creeker the tubes to inflate the airbags were replaced with a few feet of soft tubing, its easily liberated with a good tug. Never thought id ever admit to putting it there but its something i often though about.... a few foot of tube could go along way! ;) I'd check t...

Re: Unusual Safety Kit
Very interesting.
Super glue is mentioned a few times there. I was wondering do many people carry super glue with them? I could see its benefits when paddling in remote areas but would it be necessary here in Ireland?
