Jim,
The river left side of the bridge is totally washed away, leaving the remainder of the bridge balancing on what looks like a snone wall....
I would not suggest people paddle under or near what is left as it looks like a strong gust would have the whats left in the river!

There is a pretty active boating scene up north, I reckon the guys in C.A.N.I would be your best port of call and they will point you in the right direction.

Ah thats fair enough, that said most clubs run some sort of beginner courses that would give you a taste of the sport. Phoenix kayak are very active and would be definatly worh contacting. OR I reckon if you have a quick chat with the lads in Munster Dive they will tell you about there kayak school ...
