Re: Canoeing Ireland Agm
Who went? Anything exciting happen at it? I went, I was nominated for position of Leinster Rep which is the role I now hold. I wrote a bit about it earlier today here if you want to look Attendance was poor apart from the regular ADM attenders. ' It would be difficult to summarise the ADM in a posi...

Tree on Kings river Kilkenny
I know it's not the most often paddled river but there is a river wide tree down on the Kings river in Kilkenny. It's approx 1.5km from the get on just after the S bend with the farm buildings on river left. It is a serious hazzard and portage is nessary, there is no route past and it looks stuck th...

Re: freestyle website
Seanie I think Ronnie Brennan was the last to have charge of it. They still have the domain but for what I've heard their previous hosting provider has deleted their previous site file/ data bases.
A shame considering the epic and thankless work Pete and others did over the years.

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
I had meant to add, Before people start talking about being disenfranchised or others start gloating about some sort of victory, it's worth remembering that the changes that happened at the ADM were by what can only be described as a landslide. This obviously reflected how the membership feel, and C...

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
Ken see the Board's address below, full size copy attached. The boards address / report not being adopted has no consequences and has no relevance to the accounts. It's worth nothing that the boards report was from the board made up of Non Executive members. Loads was said and what happened at the 5...

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
I am told that the company sectary would be the person responsible for ensuring the ADM was administered correctly. If this is Karl then he will be answerable to the board / his line manager. I've been very vocal about lots of things regarding the GM position. But right now Karl is in his position ...

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
Paul I would agree with you whole heartily, this isn't a normal situation and I think this rule should be put to the side and a full election held. Perhaps a first election for 3 candidates who would server 2 years then an second for 2 candidates who would server for one year, then the next year we ...

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
Has anyone sent the ICU And email or letter enquiring about these issues? (dates, motions, number of open postions changing etc. ) Even though the ICU should be responsive and answer the questions if put to them by an individual member, they seem to actually reply to clubs when they ask a question....

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
Cheers for posting that Paul and I share your frustration. I would very much like to know why the board as it stands let this current situation arrive, I will try make inquiries tomorrow to see if I can get any information on this tomorrow. There can be no valid reason (beyond some unknown last minu...

Re: Canoeing Ireland AGM
What has happened isn't ideal, we can all agree on that. I've been one fairly out spoken about things that have happened up to now but I do think the decision not to hold the ADM was the correct one. According to the M&A's the monitions and nominations are to be published x days before the ADM (14/1...

Canoeing Ireland - An analysis by Mark Clinton
I know Seanie posted this information in the other thread but I think it's worth while giving it a thread of it's own thread and try generate some quality focused debate, thoughts and ideas on his suggest restructure. For those who don;t know Mark Clinton was a member of the ex board of CI and was v...
