Re: Adventureizing II - Polladirk River, Connemara, Galway
Dan, Barry, Darragh and I went out for a go at this one on Wednesday. There had been quite a bit of rain over the previous few days, and it was raining pretty much all day, so we were reasonably sure of water. Not the case. My guess is that the surrounding land is so boggy and marshy that it has to ...

Re: Requirement for Travel Insurance?
I guess this kind of answers my question.
On reflection, it was probably fairly stupid to do without.

Re: Lower Flesk Danger
Because, as I already said, presumably the farmer who owns the surrounding lands has erected it for a reason, such as to prevent the movement of animals. I think we have a right to enjoy rivers, but I also think we should be respectful of the fact that those rivers flow through private lands, which ...

Re: Lower Flesk Danger
Presumably the farmer who owns the surrounding land has erected it for a reason. Why would you remove it? Is the onus not on the paddler to be aware?
Thanks for the heads up though.

Re: Adventureizing - Owenglin River, Clifden
We had a great day out here yesterday – seven hours on the river. Big thanks to Seanie for all the groundwork. There were certainly a few long flat sections, but the two main falls made up for this. The level was pretty low, but the falls were still good to go – and this was after only a day's r...

Requirement for Travel Insurance?
Does anyone know definitively what degree of travel/personal insurance is required for paddling in Europe? I've previously got insurance to go paddling abroad in Europe – in case of needing emergency rescue, etc. – but didn't bother this year. It doesn't seem likely to me that a European citizen...

Welsh Inquiry Rejects Right to Paddle
Not sure if many here keep up to date with the access situation in England and Wales. Hopefully we'll never have to go through this here. Some debate on UKRGB regarding the recent report: http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64947 Some fairly dismal recommendations: Recommend...

Re: Travel Insurance?
I've used www.fyi.ie in the past. They're quite cheap and seem to have a good policy, but you'll need to read it yourself to make sure it covers everything you need.

Re: Help please!
The question was, which manufacture will stand by their warranty, any one have any happy tales of good customer service? I looked after my last boat, and after the poor service, will never buy from them again! Actually, Mike, that wasn't the question. But how and ever… If you feel your warranty i...

Re: Help please!
So you would like a creek boat manufacturer with a minimum two-year warranty and a no-quible policy? Those seem like very high expectations. I'm not saying your boat was broken through your error. But how to prove that to a manufacturer? Or should they take you on your word? Surely if creek boat man...
