Re: RE: New "High Performance" Centre to be based at Lucan?
Neil my point is that the funding for the HP programs does not come from Canoe Ireland, organizations like the Olympic Council of Ireland provide most of the funding and Canoe Ireland gets no say how its spent or very little. Most goes direct to 'carded athletes', its more complex than that but that...

Re: RE: New "High Performance" Centre to be based at Lucan?
Neil you have seen my reply re OCI funding on Facebook, Canoe Ireland gets little say where that money is spent. I'm sure if canoe Ireland had the funds there would be a massive artificial course that runs all year round and cost noting to use but sadly that is not the case. As for why Dublin, infra...

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM
The way that this is being rushed just stinks of all things wrong, its a real 'Union way of doing things' as was put to me during the week. I fear how much input Eamon Devoy has had in this process and reeks of Jobs for the boys. Its a bad move any way you look at it, there was no need to rush the p...

Noel, Adrian Shanahan is my name there is no secret about that, you can even drop me a email on adrian@adrianshanahan.co...

Re: Seanie Should Stand for Election
Noel, This carry on at having a pop at someone whom is largely responsible for getting mass amounts of people back interested in how their union runs and works and was one of the first people to point out the accounting errors that eventually brought to light Mick Scanlon situation is bang out of or...

Re: ICU AGM Motions
I'm confused over Article 45! Could we get Seanie's account of what the current situation is? I've read Seanie's account of the Kilcullen AGM and from what is described, Article 45 was scrapped and Brendan O'Connell was forced to step down because he was nominated under the "old" system when it did...

Re: ICU AGM Motions
I stand corrected, I forgot that that motion was still passed despite some of us raising the point at the AGM in which Brendan O Connell was 'ousted on a technicality'
A valid motion motion to put forward for the up coming AGM would be to re instate Article 45 to how it once was.

Kev,
There is a cap on the amount of constitutive terms you can serve on the executive, funny enough the executive a couple of years ago tried to remove this cap in a real shady manor.

Re: ICU AGM Motions
God Sean the way things are its hard to know what to put forward as a motion as the current state of affairs is not overly clear. I'm not sure how practical it is but I would be keen to see the abolition of the voting bloc and direct proportion system currently in operation at the AGM. I would be in...

ICU AGM Voting Bloc's
Hi all, I'm sure you are all aware of all that is currently going on in the ICU and that an AGM has been called for the 26th of November with the venue still to be confirmed. People are always confused when it comes to how the voting works. 25. Each Delegate at a Delegate Meeting shall cast votes on...

Re: Kayaking Avonmore
Hi, The section of river you mention is often paddled, at the moment there is littl or no water in the river so no worthwhile. I would also say that river kayaking involves a new set of challenges and dangers that using a sit on top kayak in the sea. So while it is possible I would strongly suggest ...
