Re: Roads cameras
Ok so those NRA cameras are not as good as I thought since they don't update all that often. The new cameras were installed on the motorways by a company called Vaisala. They provide all the councils, PPP's etc with detailed road weather data of particular use during the winter. These are pretty han...

Roads cameras
I've been using the NRA weather information a lot at work lately but they can be very handy too if you've a long drive to do also especially in this cold snap. There are now also a good few cameras up on the M50 and the other motorways. Take it easy out there. There is 20cm of snow forecast for the ...

Re: How is the whitewater in Ireland??
Unfortunately Irish kayak shops do not really rent out boats too often. Your best source of info if you are in Galway is a shop called River Deep, Mountain High. Ask for Pat. Hope you find some water!

Dirtbag Diaries
The podcast is quickly becoming an art form. The guys at The Dirtbag Diaries have been in the game a while and are close to mastering it. Some wonderful listenings are to be found and their choice of music is fantastic. A real gem.

Re: Rainfall Radar Upgrade
The NRA have also upgraded their weather stations and are continuing to do so. It is now possible to get updates every 20 mins for most areas in ireland. It doesn't give you the rainfall amount though just whether it is actually raining at the time. It's great for checking road conditions before a l...

Re: Boyne River level
Very very low at the minute. It's only worth going down to the slalom site. You can paddle back upriver to Stackallen at the minute. This drought had better end soon.

Old photos of Stackallen wanted
Howdy, I'm looking for some old photos of Stackallen Weir on the Boyne, taken five or more years ago. They are proving hard to come by so if anyone has a few lying around I'd really appreciate if you could post up here or fire me an email. They are for a project relating to the weir I am working on ...
