Re: Help please!
but want one that will last and if it splits is covered Ok, I can't be the only one who wonders about that statement? Analogy: you buy a car, you drive it for a year, you hit it off a gatepost reversing into the driveway and dent the bumper... Do you go back to the manufacturer and tell them their ...

Re: Unusual Safety Kit
I've fixed small cracks with big lumps of wax, and duct tape on the inside... not sure if it'd work as well for wider cracks though...EoinH wrote: I'd be interested to know what else people carry to fix plastic cracks on the riverbank.

Re: Irish boatercross series.
Ideas all sound good, but any Flesk races are a bit of a question mark... we had issues getting access last time after the land at the bottom left of the Gates changed hands.

Re: Free L3 Skills Assessment and RSR1 Course - Bandon
Hey Alan, as the Postie says, if coming from Cork or anywhere civilised, head out the main Cork / Bandon road and you'll pass through Inishannon. At the end of the village the road bends left over a bridge, this is the get off. To park, turn left immediately after the bridge and 50m further on you'l...

Re: Where is the best place to spend easter paddling?
I'd have to agree with Bryan, South is best. Obviously, all rain dependent, but if rivers are up Killarney is a good base, you have most Cork / Kerry rivers within an hour. If no rain but surf looks good, both Cork and Kerry coasts have some nice places. If no rain and no surf there are also some go...

Re: The future of Rossbeigh for New Years.....
Yawn. Deja Vu! Glenbeigh / Rossbeigh doesn't necessarily mean Ice Boxes. I've been there for the last many years except for one Castlegregory year, and never stayed in an ice box house, nor do I intend to. Other houses in the area are cheaper, warmer, and the landlords easier to deal with. This year...

Re: Wheres best to stay and paddle in Ireland over new years?
The best people to hook up with for boating are, undoubtedly, UCDCC. All others are just hanging on their coat-tails. Always the comedian, eh Jim?! Josh by basing yourselves in Killarney you're very central for rivers. Surf will be a bit further for you though, and you should be aware it's quite a ...

Re: Glens Gauge out of credit
Yeah 1 beep = 5cm, so 9 beeps should be between 45 and 49cm, not under 40, sheesh do they not teach maths up there in the Pale!

Re: Glens Gauge out of credit
Incidentally, just so people are aware, the gauge seems to be reading a few cm high when you ring it, I stood beside it on Sunday while it gave me 9 beeps but was only barely at 0.4 on the stick gauge. Have already informed Mr Sweeney that this kind of misinformation is just not good enough and his ...

Re: There is NO place in modern river running for sculling for s
I'd have to agree as well, I once found myself caught in a very shallow hole on the Nile in Uganda and only for being able to scull my way back to where it flushed I would have had a very nasty swim out. Buuuut... (devil's advocate) if you were using your paddle to move yourself then you weren't sc...
