Re: Boyne River level
Em very low...although the wee hole on the side canal has had some trees cleared from it and is worth running. Get out on river left after the diagonal weir and walk back up to it.

Re: Kayak Session
Try great outdoors or OAS. None of the newsagents stock it. It's a lot better value though if you order it online.

Level is low as of 9th March. On the up side you can now paddle down from Stackallen to the slalom course at the S bend and back upstream again afterwards.

Re: Good online kayaking Vids
All aboard the paddle train! Great little film from Norway. From the kayak session list again. This is my ideal scenario for a paddling trip because there is hardly a scent of a carbon footprint from just using the train. When I last tried travelling with kaya...

Re: Boyne River level
Level as of this evening 19/2: Medium/Low, the wave at Stackallen is small with a bit of a shoulder surfers left. Still worth a paddle if there is nothing else. ;) Note - There is quite a bit of litter at the put in for Stackallen. It's unlikely this is from paddlers but please do be mindful to take...

A great film from Sean Kinsella who lives in Japan. It's called Kayak / Japan. I love the tunes he has timed to perfection as well. This is kayak sessions video of the month for good reason. Well done!

Re: Where is the best place to spend easter paddling?
If there is rain forecast for the East coast then the rivers of Wicklow (just south of Dublin) is another option. There area a lot of good grade 3/4 runs in the Wicklow mountains but again you need it to be raining heavily in the run up as most are spate rivers. Some of the most popular are the Anna...

Re: Wicklow road report from today (Saturday)
Dargle was in big flood and still rising this morning. It was possible to get to Oldbridge at Lough Dan by car but roads are very poor in general. Big river wide waves downstream of the bridge and its up in the trees. We went to watch the match instead.
