Buuuut... (devil's advocate) if you were using your paddle to move yourself then you weren't sculling as such were you? You were just paddling on one side while keeping your boat on edge. Sculling for support keeps you stationary. Yup, sculling is pointless. How is sculling supposed get you out of ...

Just wondering Seanie if youve considered putting a paypal donations button on the guages page or even ads to help fund further guages. Fair play for getting in touch with him. I reckon i should be able to muster up a group from DCU to go. It would make it a lot easier to get members if it were in a more central location but its up to yourself.

Im based close to Aughrim so give me a shout if youre ever thinking of taking a look at it.
Theres a super steep river not too far from me near the wexford border than ive been meaning to take a look at the last age, could be worth lookin at too.

Im thinking of getting a few more kayaking related books. Not instruction related ones, just river stories etc Anybody got any reccommendations? I was reading the book "Running the Amazon" by Joe Kane a while back...good read Anybody know the name of the good book written about the ill-fated attempt...

you need to get your hands on a data cable to hook it up to your pc.
heres a nifty little program called gpsbabel thats useful for importing/exporting coordinates.
