Re: Resignation of President and Executive of Canoeing Irela

RoShaw,
Just of couple of factual corrections;

Freestyle is funded by CI, last year they recieved €3,000.00. This is the same amount that all of the technical disciplines received, including the TDU. The committees of the technical disciplines decide how they will allocate their funding.
The ...

Re: Canoe Ireland Wishlist

All,
Some progress:

1) Publish board meeting minutes
See the page below:
http://www.canoe.ie/en-us/information/boardandexecutivereports.aspx

Now you know what has been discussed at the meetings. Clearly it is not a transcript of what got said at each meeting, (that would take an age to read ...

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM

Seanie,

Do you honestly think for that each candidate is going to be interviewed by 14 people (ie; the full board and a member of the IOC and the ISC)??? If you do, you're clearly enjoying far too much of the hippy lifestyle in San Fran!

You're right, I got burned in the past, that WILL influence ...

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM

To the best of my knowledge (and I asked very recently):

The interview panel is made up of the president of the ICU and two other representatives, this panel will make a recommendation to the board of the ICU. It is upto the board whether or not they choose to accept this recommendation.

I don't ...

Re: A question I have for Nominees for ICU Executive Committ

Leftism,

You highlight a very real possibility.

If the usual apathy for all things ICU related prevails, then too few 'normal paddlers' will show up for the AGM, and, as has been the case in the past the views of the minority will be significantly over-represented - we will return from whence we ...

Seanie V Noel (a spot for the lads to duke it out)

Gentlemen,
Perhaps you could limit your spat to this thread - the rest of us would appreciate it.

(For the record, I think both of you do good work and I have no wish to offend either of you, but I'm well aware that this post is quite likely to do just that, so.... sorry).

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM

this was discussed at the last board meeting - and voted upon.
The only change to the process was to be additional advertising using Recruit Ireland or similar.

Canoe Ireland Wishlist

Right,
a wishlist of the stuff people want Canoe Ireland to be involved in/do. I'm using the term Canoe Ireland as I would like to distinguish between the past (Irish Canoe Union) and the bright future that is at our feet - this could be awesome!!
This will not happen overnight, and most of it may ...

Re: Seanie Should Stand for Election

At long last, the tone seems to have changed, the name calling has subsided and some useful discussion has started.

For the record, I have no 'personal' issue with Seanie, we agree on many things. I took execption to being implicated in some sort of conspiracy, that I was definitely not part of ...

Hmmmmmm..........this tastes horrendous...... I f*cking hate humble pie.......

Looks like Seanie's claims may have some merit......
Obviously, the fact that Seanie seems to have better information than I do is embarassing.....

Seanie, you were right about the timing, I was not - sorry.

I stand by ...

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM

Kev,
First off, the date for the AGM has been announced - 26th of November. The recent debacle with the CEO and in particular the visit to the high court was the cause of the delay.
I'm not going to speak on behalf of the board, as I don't feel it's appropriate. That said, I (speaking for myself ...

Re: Rush to select a new Canoe Union CEO/GM

Seanie,
As a board member I am greatly troubled by this post for a number of reasons, but before I go into my reasons - the opinions expressed below are mine and mine alone, I do not speak on behalf of the board.

1) You are insinuating that the board (and by default me) are in some way fast ...
