Re: New to paddling in Ireland - some guidance needed please
Also not all paddling in Ireland needs rain - surf can be good on the west & south coasts through the summer.

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Assuming the Phoenix club mentioned is Phoenix kayak club in Cork, none of those signatories are on the committee...

Re: Wacko in the Jacko
Was a really excellent event, very well run. Little bit more water might've been nice, but was great to see a big crowd of people enjoying paddling in the sunshine, big smiles all round.

Re: ICU in need of reform?
If you have no opinion on any of the above, please at least answer the following:
Do you have any idea of the structure of the ICU? (my understanding is not complete - but surely that's part of the issue?)
Yes... as should anyone who's ever done an ICU instructor training course, it's been ...

Re: Travel Insurance?
Wow JK, you're like, my hero. But you knew that anyway, right?
Sportscoverdirect... looks really good... covers everything I want covered, but would cost me £161 (that's sterling) for an annual policy. That's a lot of money!

Re: Travel Insurance?
Right, bringing this back up to the top! I knew there was a reason I wasn't convinced about FYI... while most of their stuff is reasonable, they only cover search and rescue up to a max of €3500, which seems miserably low if (god forbid) one needed helicoptering out of somewhere.
So to open it ...

Travel Insurance?
Hi folks,
just wondering who people have used / would recommend for an annual travel insurance policy. It'd need to cover kayaking, snowboarding and mountain biking. I've heard the BMC one recommended before, but the website is quoting me £165 sterling, which seems awfully expensive... vs something ...
