Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Last post as this is getting tedious. More that you were trying to back up Mick's denial that related party transactions took place (a denial that i still do not believe) and to a lesser extent trying to validate the accounts by quoting "company law requirements". I know the 2008 issue is for anothe...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Two independent sources have identified the voice at 1140 on that mp3 as being Dermot Hudson from Salmon Leap! Have you had a listen to it? I know your own voice can sound all funny when its played back on a recording but is that not you that starts talking at 1140? The chairman refers to a person ...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Are you the Dermot Hudson (nicknamed "Herby") who finished 6th in K2 with Simon Van Lonkhuyzen at the Liffey Descent last year? http://www.liffeydescent.com/Results.aspx Yes - I wasn't training last year. If so then I'm fairly sure you can be heard defending the accounts at 1140/1470 of the mp3 cli...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
We may have our lines crossed here Herby. You said Mick is not on the board of directors. I am saying that he has been voting as a member of the board for some years. Are you defining the Executive as the board of directors? Or the board (which is made up of chairs from each technical committee)? E...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
For those who don't know Dermot, he is an accountant who paddles for Salmon Leap that can be heard defending the audit of ICU accounts back at the AGM in 2008. Seanie posted an mp3 of it here: http://forum.iww.ie/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=823 So Herby, in your professional opinion, do you still think the...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
I'm Dermot Hudson, SLCC (and I'm speaking in a personal capacity, not on behalf of SLCC).

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Mick has up until recently been voting on behalf of absent technical committees. Therefore he has had a defacto position on the board of directors for many years. There are many examples of this where Mick has twisted the rules in order to increase his level of control over the ICU... Being chairpe...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Understanding company law should be a basic requirement, and I think Mick has this understanding. Would you hire a CEO that didn't have the faintest idea of company law? Again he's not "just a employee" he's the Chief Executive Officer, and officially he's the Company Secretary also, as I said not ...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Having to set specific obvious rules for a CEO ... I'd fire a CEO on these grounds alone, seriously its a CEO position, not a janitor gig. Most of the rules and expectations that a CEO is meant to abide by are laid out by the law of the land, it should be fairly obvious. Every CEO is set boundaries...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
Did Mick seek to clarify guidelines, rules and seek out explicit instructions? To say that Mick "was interested in introducing best governance practices to the ICU" is laughable. Read this account of an AGM with our CEO's best practices. I don’t know, but it’s like asking your boss or teacher to be...

Re: FW: Response to ICU statement
The problem at the ICU is a lack of governance excercised by the directors down through the years. Did Mick breach guidelines, rules, explicit instructions given to him by the directors / executive or is it that there never were any and Mick followed a path that he deemed appropriate? If that is the...
