Re: He spotted something in the water approximately 1km sout
Like all of the incident reports I see coming out of the Marine Casualty investigation board, I've some serious problems with their wording in relation to kayaking. Despite his wealth of experience in the field of marine sports, including kayaking, the instructor possessed no formal qualification fo...

Re: The Low Brace Turn
Having read 4 pages of the old thread today(and having read it before), I have only one real situation for using a low brace turn(when not preparing people for assessments), that is purely to give an active method of practicing the low brace, rather than just floating on the spot. Just thought I'd g...

Re: CENSORSHIP ON SEANIE'S WEBSITE

Re: Canoe Ireland Wishlist
The intervarsities grew out of "schools" canoeing, but I'm still not sure what schools canoeing actually was, so it would be great to see that revived. I know Alan "Moogie" Moore has gotten a good few people in the Grammar school in sligo, where he teaches involved. Be interesting in hearing about ...

Re: Canoe Ireland Wishlist
I would definitely like to see some sort of initiative with regards to encouraging primary school and secondary school kids to give kayaking a go. In my mind a system such as: if the appropriate gear could be sourced(mainly second hand boats etc.), perhaps a trailer or van and then have a couple of ...

Re: What's the story with the guages?
Saw this thread, and sorry for going off on a tangent but it seems relevant. Saw this a while back, can't remember where but it might very well turn out to be useful. It's a website set up by the various fisheries boards with all their digitised gauges http://hydronet.epa.ie/maps_W_0.htm?entryparake...
