Re: Resignation of President and Executive of Canoeing Irela
Orky I think at least one of the league events (possibly two?) requires CI membership so there is some association in that context, with individual events though not with the league (I think).

Re: Resignation of President and Executive of Canoeing Irela
After much thought I won't be renewing my CI membership when it expires in February. I would definitely be interested in maintaining reg. with the TDU and am looking into CANI for competition entry. Am in the process of joining a canoe club that doesn't AFAIK require me to be a CI member or automati...

Well as you may have noticed there seems to be plenty of speculation here, supposedly "attacking the opinion not the person". I'm not sure all the "anonymous" posters there read that message.

I presume you pay the sports equipment carriage when you book it on but nothing extra? I'll arrive early and take that advice, cheers

Re: Aer Lingus and busses with kayaks?
Has anyone travelled with Aer Lingus recently and brought a boat? Thinking of just booking it on as a surfboard - it still seems to be the closest thing.

Re: Clare River Help.
You should consider joining a club and learn how to paddle a canoe or kayak before undertaking any type of trip. Galway Kayak Club might be your best bet as some of the members paddle on various stretches of the Clare. For safety reasons you should probably make your trip with at least two other peo...

Re: Conflict of Interest with Related Party Transaction
Neil, as I see it, and I'm sad to see it, the only person continuing to bring the atmosphere in the past into the present is you. To suggest an upstanding person (who has acknowledged his occupation here) would take on a heavy voluntary role to profit from it when he has a history of doing just the ...

Re: Conflict of Interest with Related Party Transaction
Neil, I totally agree with Tadhg's point, and till now was racking my brains trying to figure out what he was referring to, but as someone who has known Pat for some time, you can certainly rest assured that there will be no conflict of interest. Pat is one of the few people I know who is genuinely ...

REC
Hello, that time of three years again - I need to renew my REC cert. A refresher, REC 3 or REC 4 over December/January would be ideal. (I saw the post about the refresher course this weekend but unfortunately cannot make that). Please PM me if you are organizing one and need to make up the numbers. ...

Re: Canoe Ireland Wishlist
On my list: 1. Juniors! Just on that point Simon, handing out leaflets to local clubs is all very well, but not all clubs are in a position to accept junior members. Maybe supporting existing clubs in securing appropriate facilities for junior members could be another approach, as well as developing...
