Re: Resignation of President and Executive of Canoeing Irela
I'd love to ask about details but I know you'd be far too professional to divulge Pat. I'm sure you gave it your absolute best shot. I don't know about anyone else but I'm pretty much done with the ICU. I know there are many many good people involved but it seems to me that for disciplines not funde...

Re: The Low Brace Turn
I think at the time of that original discussion I felt that there may be a place for the low brace turn. The so called "new school" paddling simply shouldn't be referred to as "new school" anymore IMO. There are many paddlers who end up with level 3 instructor skills who appear to still teach to the...

Re: Slovenia Photo Roundup
Loads of really class photos and loving the video too. Apart from the fact that the place itse;f is so fantastic your vid and photos make me want to beat Ali unconcious to steal his Sweet Rooster! One thing I'd say about Slovenia is that it really is a class place to be off the water too. So much hi...

Re: Owenfeanna River, Co. Kerry
Not 100% sure but i think this is the run that Conor Bredin and Dave O'Sullivan ran on New Year's eve this year. Conor raved about it being a quick andcontinusous grade 3/3+ but Dave seemed less excited! I think it may have been to do with the map reading skells shown on the way there!

Re: Clare Glens Race 2012 - 7th or 8th of January
Looking ok for levels. I'd expect that it'll be about .35 at least. The last time the event was on it was about that level. The land around is absolutely saturated and it's got that steady drizzle outside right now......

Re: Conflict of Interest with Related Party Transaction
I think in terms of Pat having to declare such things in his manefesto.... that doesn't sit well with me. Far too many people are in suspicion mode. The slightest of comments being construed in certain light would have been disasterous for Pat's nomination. It was not deliberately concealed and in m...

Re: Conflict of Interest with Related Party Transaction
I have to say Pat as a Dublin paddler I'm a little worried about your references to Dublin in a negative way. I find it strange that a President of a Countrywide organisation would voice that kind of opinion on a public forum? But hey, maybe thats just me Keith Well as a Dublin paddler of course yo...

Re: A question I have for Nominees for ICU Executive Committ
I find it quite hard to take that some nominees would associate themselves with others. It happens in polotics all over but I think it's quite insulting to basically suggest that if there is oone out of a presented "package" that you like, then you should vote for the others. For me, I have to say t...

Re: Are you planning on attending the ICU AGM? Some advice..
Just to say that if you are a member of the ICU or an afiliated club your opinion does count, whether it's critical (hopefully constructively) or not. There seems to be a cohort of people out there who would seek to suggest that unless you put yourself forward to be elected you are not entitled to y...

Sorry to hear that....
The gang from UL that were down included a load of oldies (we were getting together for a bit of a reunion weekend).
I'll try to get the word out to all those who were there to see if anyone saw anything.

Re: What's the story with the guages?
Yeah I think the gauge on the glens is reading a bit low but it's more that the accuracy is a little off at higher levels.
At the runnable level of .4m it's much closer to accurate.
