Re: Unusual Safety Kit

Super glue is mentioned a few times there. I was wondering do many people carry super glue with them?
Handy for those annoying little cuts.

Have been taking a pre-made pig rig in a little mesh bag with me lately. Have'nt used in 'for real' yet.

And duct tape can fix ANYTHING. :)

Re: Regulation of Kayaking and Canoeing in Ireland

No I have'nt, sorry if i was'nt clear. I'm talking about the I.C.U here. Does this give n.g.b's the power to dictate regulations/guidelines in order to push out smaller operators? If the bill is passed and commercial instructors have to adhere to I.c.u guidelines would it open the door for the i.c.u...

Re: Regulation of Kayaking and Canoeing in Ireland

It states clearly that its to regulate commercial operators, not clubs or persons going out without a guide or instructor. Its board will have NGB representatives to oversee it. Its not trying to replace NGB's but to insist anyone offering to bring people out for money follow NGB guidelines. Does t...

Re: Regulation of Kayaking and Canoeing in Ireland

Personally I much prefer the kiwi/ Norwegian model. If you participate in adventure sports, know the risks and take responsibility for your actions I would be of this opinion also. There is a mind-set in this country of 'A sure Jasus I'll give that a go'. Ok in certain sports but maybe not in Adven...

The Mighty Jacksons!!!!

So Does anyone think Jacksons has changed a bit since the floods?
I'd be interested to hear opinions. I think it has a small bit but i don't want to say where exactly yet.

And if you happen to be on facebook, search, I swam and Jacksons and I'm Proud. for a bit of a smile. :)

Re: Where is the best place to spend easter paddling?

Depending on weather conditions it could be a famine or a feast!
I recommend the Cork/ Kerry area. Plenty of choice of rivers (see the guide for details) and plenty of places for surf too.
Hope you have a good trip. :)
