In case anyone is wondering - I had a look at Upr Liffey today (Thurs 2 July) about 9:00am and it's runnable, just about. It's raining on and off so it might hold up for a while.

There's one important difference. Someone flying down a ramp or racing on grade 4 water are (or should be) aware that what they're doing is risky. Someone being led down a weir by a more experienced paddler (or instructor) is putting their trust in someone else to keep them safe.

I think the guage is pretty accurate. I went through Manor Kilbride Sat night about 7pm and it was huge - it was overflowing into the fields and the big u-turn in the river was gone. I passed back a couple of hours later (I live nearby) and it was even more huge. I went to check the level at the get...
