Re: Upper Liffey Gauge

Gauge re-installed on Saturday and all appears to be working fine now
Big thanks again to Daithi for his time spent troubleshooting the issue.

Re: Upper Liffey Gauge

Upper Liffer Gauge is temporarily out of action - just trying to get some of the gremlins out of it which are causing it to not update daily, before the days start getting shorter.

Re: Upper Liffey Gauge

DM,
The gauge cost us approx €500, ( we had to have the electronics built for us), not including the sensor cage & solar panel mount.
The parts alone cost about €300 ( solar panel, batteries, enclosures, etc)
It should cost approx. €60 - €70 per year to keep topped up with phone credit, but ...

Re: Upper Liffey river Gauge

haven't figured out what the runnable & high levels are yet for the graph - hopefully with the recent rain we'll be able to get it sorted soon.
If anyone got to have a run on the river over the week-end, let me know what day, and around what time and we'll work out the lines from there....

Re: Upper Liffey Gauge

Hi Tiernan,
We had to get approval from the park rangers, as it's in a national park.
No major issues with it though, had to bring the gauge to them so they could have a look at it before they agreed to let us mount it.

Re: Upper Liffey Gauge

A BIG thanks has to go to Daithi Power, who helped us every step of the way in getting this gauge going.

Re: Building a river gauge

Cheers Mike,
I seem to have gotten over the phone powering down problem now - when i connect the power to the board and wait for it to take it's first reading at the 15 min intervals, it stays on ( or maybe its just co-incidence). I haven't modified the phone battery management software.
At the ...

Re: Building a river gauge

I'm well on the way to having a gauge ready (cheers Daithi for the controller board), apart from 1 small problem....the phone keeps on dying.
Initially when the unit is powered on, the battery indicator on the phone shows full, but as soon as you try to call it, it begins beeping for low battery ...
